Day 2- Wednesday 15 August 2018

Day two of the conference is dedicated to learning.

Four training sessions will run concurrently, allowing you to attend each session topic throughout the day.

Training sessions

Maximising 3DReshaper

This training seminar covers key new features in 3DReshaper 2018 and various workflows.
You will get familiar with the tools and capabilities of 3DReshaper including:

  • Brand-new report editor to generate customisable deliverables
  • New command to measure stockpiles
  • New segmentation and filtering of point clouds
  • New options for road cross sections
  • How to quickly extract ground points and generate contours
  • Floor flatness analysis and how to use these results to mark out high and low spots
  • Associated workflow tips and tricks

Session times: 9am - 10:30am I 11am- 12:30pm I 1:30pm-3:00pm I 3:30pm-5:00pm

BIM workflow

Revit for surveyors - document existing conditions in Revit

This training seminar will focus on some of the fundamentals that surveyors need to be aware of when using Revit and how Leica CloudWorx can help.

Demonstration topics in this seminar will include:

  • Survey Point & Project Base Point. The training session will demonstrate how to deal with Real World Coordinates and the workflow to follow
  • Importance of True North & Project North
  • Revit Topography
  • Model walls, floors and roof
  • Using CloudWorx in the Family Editor to modify an existing window family to look like the windows in the project

Navisworks – verify building construction

This workshop will focus and demonstrate how scan data can be used to perform Clash & Anti Clash tests in Navisworks and associated tips and tricks.

Session times: 9am - 10:30am I 11am- 12:30pm I 1:30pm-3:00pm I 3:30pm-5:00pm

Advanced data management and registration workflow

This training seminar covers key concepts to effectively manage simple to complex registration using both Cyclone REGISTER and Cyclone REGISTER 360. You will learn best practices to manage large (>10,00 setup) projects effectively and get familiar with the concepts behind automated routines and algorithms (such as Auto Cloud and Smart Align) to improve the speed of registration.

Topics in this seminar will include importing data from different sensors, based on different preparation methods, applying survey control, adjusting for preferences, using multiple sitemaps, troubleshoot common registration problems, and the associated workflow tips and tricks.

Session times: 9am - 10:30am I 11am- 12:30pm I 1:30pm-3:00pm I 3:30pm-5:00pm

Creating deliverables: optimising the latest Leica HDS software updates to transform point clouds into various value- added deliverables

The Cyclone connected product family provides powerful capabilities to manage and generate useful deliverables from massive collections of digital reality data from a variety of sensor platforms (handheld, mobile, terrestrial and airborne). This seminar covers workflows, from initial data publishing to generating and sharing a wide range of derived products.

You will get familiar with the tools and capabilities of Cyclone, CloudWorx, 3DReshaper, JetStream and TruView as vehicles to produce domain relevant, rapid deliverables to meet the needs of various applications.

Topics in this seminar will include creation of deliverables for surveying, BIM and plant workflows using Cyclone and 3DReshaper, the new LGS format, feature extraction in AutoCAD and Revit plus design review in Navisworks and beyond.

Session times: 9am - 10:30am I 11am- 12:30pm I 1:30pm-3:00pm I 3:30pm-5:00pm
